Presented as part of Detroit Design Month 2025, Gerald Collins’s exhibition Perihelion offers a counter-rhythm to an era marked by acceleration and the fragmented pace of digital culture. His explorations of light, space, color, and form create environments that invite stillness, introspection, and an inward turning of attention. Through architecture, natural and LED light, color, and light-sensitive materials drawn from daily life, Collins sets the stage for viewers to step beyond distraction and into a state of quiet presence, where reflection, transformation, and connection become palpable.
